Who Will Benefit From Our Example of Space Reorganization

Their marketing activities have focused on the upper levels of the sales funnel, such as television ads to increase brand awareness, and the lower levels of the sales funnel, such as investing in display cases and back shelves at the end of the aisles. With the expansion of Amazon into the food category, the expansion of the offline segment with online stores, the entry of e-grocery companies such as Peapod into the market, CPG suppliers began to develop appropriate strategies and their own e-commerce departments. At first glance, it seemed that, due to indirect distribution, there were no significant differences for the manufacturer between offline and online models.

The “delivery from warehouse” model did not include perishable goods and was focused on optimizing logistics and supply chains. Well-known brands have worked on this model, including Boxed, an online C Level Contact List wholesale and retail company that specialized in bulk purchasing and delivered certain categories of goods in the absence of participation programs or memberships, while optimizing the space in the box. Amazon had a similar service called Prime Pantry that was available to Prime members. Boxed had additional experience in online customer service and the design of the site and app was designed to encourage certain browsing behaviors.

These models did not have their own offline alternatives. A variation on the "delivery from stock" model was niche groceries that included several specialized categories and were delivered to consumers. For example, a number of companies have sought to streamline the supply chain and bring into circulation products that are not normally sold offline by offering delivery to consumers (for example, defective goods, "non-conforming" and unattractive goods). Other companies have redefined the traditional "wine club" model and offered consumers wines, meats or selected categories of products available for delivery. However, they have important differences.
